Poker Texas Hold'em: rules of the game, how to play and win
Texas hold'em: a game of open poker
Texas hold'em is played with one pack of 52 cards and of the tokens. One distinguishes the poker open from the draw poker. With the open poker certain charts are visible (open). In addition certain charts are private (usable only by the player to which they were allotted) and the other public ones (usable by all the players). In Texas hold'em, one finds these two types of charts. In addition this play can be played with or unbounded. In “No limit”, the players all can miser their tokens without restriction. In our example, one will describe a play in limit $1/$2.
First turn of bidding
At the beginning of each hand, each player receives 2 closed and private charts, one by one distributed by the donor. The donor indicates more the position of a player than the fact of distributing the charts, which is generally made by a croupier. A disc called button materializes the position of the donor. The player placed at his left pays small the blind (small blind) which corresponds to half of the setting, that is to say $0.50. Its neighbor of left discharges to him large blind (big blind) which corresponds to the basic setting ($1).
It is with the turn of the player following of speaking. Several possibilities are offered to him. He can lie down, by giving up the hand. He can follow (or pay) by discharging current setting, i.e. the big blind. He can also start again of $2.
In turn, in the direction of the needles of a watch, the players speak. They can also lie down, pay or start again. The number of revivals is limited in a turn of bidding in hold'em limit. The turn of bidding finishes when all the players who did not lie down put the same amount and when the player in position of big blind spoke. This last has a fourth possibility: that of checker (or to say “word”), provided that there no were revival in the turn of bidding. This option enables him to remain concerned without having with miser, considering its setting current is equivalent to the highest setting carried out by the other players.
If a player does not have tokens sufficient any more to follow it can miser the remainder of its carpet. Idem if it has more tokens than one should not any to follow but not sufficiently to start again. Since a player put the integrality of his carpet, if a setting or a revival is deposited by another player, the pot will be divided. The hand pot (principal pot) will be concerned for all the players who will have contributed to it but the remainder, the side pot, could be gained by the player having the best hand among those which fed it.
Failure
At the time of failure, the croupier “burns” (side puts) a chart, without revealing it. Then it turns over three charts which it deposits in the middle of the table. These three charts constitute failure. They are visible by all the players and can be used by each one of them to constitute their play.
A new turn of bidding starts then. This time, there is no blind and the player in position of small blind speaks the first. All the players also have the possibility of checker if their setting is with the height of that of the other players.
The turning and the river
The croupier burns then a new chart and turns over the fourth chart of the table, called the turning (turn). The revealing of this chart is followed of a new turn of bidding, with a minimal setting of 2 $.
After having burned another chart, the croupier posts the fifth and last chart of the table: the river (to rivet). Is followed from there the last turn of bidding. The settings do not have limit with this turn.
Abbatage
At the conclusion of the last turn of bidding, if only one remainder concerned, it gains the pot without having to show its charts. If the remaining players are several, they reveal their play in turn. If a player has a hand lower than that which is revealed, it is not obliged to show its play and lie down. The player who with the best hand gains the pot. If they are several to have the best hand, they divide the pot.
