American martingale: a technique to compensate losses at the casino roulette
Principle of rising American (or American martingale)
In the big family of the martingales, the principle of the American martingale joined that of the Dutch martingale: the losses of the players are memorized and they should be purged gradually. Where the Dutch martingale purges the losses one by one, the American martingale will remove them 2 by 2.
The ground of application of this martingale is as for the majority of the others on the games with simple chance i.e. while betting on the events having a chance on two to occur.
There exist several alternatives of this martingale. Here is the general principle. The player manages a list of the losses. If this list is empty it bets the basic setting. If the list contains only one number, it brings into play the sum of this number and the basic setting. If the list contains several elements, it put the sum of the first and the last number of the list. In the event of success, the player raye the numbers of his list to which corresponded if necessary its setting. In the event of failure, he adds the setting lost at the end of his list.
The American martingale for the example
Let us take again our traditional example of the roulette. One will exploit the red each time. Here settings, results and evolution of the list of the losses.

In our example, the player gained 9 times the basic setting, in spite of more blows losers than of gaining blows. The list of the losses is to purge quickly, but consequently the blows used to purge the debts does not contribute to the final profit.
Advantages & disadvantages of the American martingale
At the time of successive losses the setting increases more quickly than for the Dutch martingale. Moreover blows permdettant to reduce the losses do not bring profit. This being the settings do not increase in a disproportionate way, even in the event of series of losses: there is thus little chance that one is confronted with the limits of setting of the table (in condition of choosing its basic setting well all the same). The losses are purged quickly and that offers a low security level for the player. The profits remain important (even if the number of gaining blows is less than the number of blows losers).
