The principle of the large martingale
The large martingale can be used to bet on an event having with little prus a chance on two to occur. It is in particular the case with the roulette to bet for example on a color. But of other games proposing this type of bet will be able to make the deal.
It is directly inspired by the martingale of Hawks and in is an optimized alternative. Thus after having put on the event the basic setting, one starts again in the event of success. In the event of failure, one put on this same event by doubling the setting and by adding the basic setting, and this until obtaining a success. In this way, each gaining blow will continue to save the basic setting. But each blow losing will be also remunerated by the amount of the basic setting at the time of the blow gaining according to. Final, this martingale makes it possible to gain a basic setting by played blow.
Example of use of the large martingale
In our example one will simulate part of roulette. One will misera systematically on the red. In the following table one describes for each blow the setting and the detail of the profits and the losses.

It is seen that the balance increases overall, even if there are more blows losers (16) that gaining blows (14). The balance of the profits is higher than that of the losses. As agreed, after 30 disputed blows, one gained 30 times well the basic setting.
Advantages and disadvantages of the large martingale
The first disadvantage of this martingale is the exponential growth of the wagers, even stronger than for the martingale of Hawks. It is necessary for this reason to supervise very close the maximum wagers authorized by the casino.
The main advantage of this technique is to ensure a constant profit, whatever the events. One inevitably gains the number of blows played by the amount of the basic setting.
